Dear Members,
 
On Saturday November 29, 2008, and on behalf of AAAEA, the activity committee hosted a free financial seminar for members and their guests at Pita House in Schaumberg, Illinois. The program was sponsored by Mr. Hussam Zayyad, CFP of Morgan Stanley and luncheon at Pita House was served.
Mr. Zayyad talked about various techniques as to how to protect your investments and evaluate the different financial instruments available in the market place. The seminar provided important financial information to help participants make smart financial decision and manage their monies better.  The audience had ample of time to ask questions and Mr. Zayyad gave his contact information for anyone needs to consult with him. ACT Review Course

AAAEA will offer a review course for our community student's prior to taking the ACT test. The cost is $100 to cover expenses, and it is 3 hours on Saturdays (this year it will start on 1/17/09) for 11 weeks.

Interview with Dr. Ghaffar Kazkaz
 
Can you tell us more about your professional career?
 
            
My main education is in Math, Physics and Electrical Engineering.  I hold a Physics Ph.D. in the technology of integrated circuits and an Electrical Engineering Ph.D. in optical waveguides and integrated optics.  In the past I worked in teaching and printing industry.  At ITW I worked in many research areas including; electrostatic painting, voltage blocking, insert molding components, mechanical structures.  I also developed a new method for designing and machining high strength Spiroid and worm gears.

AAAEA visits with Arab American Family Services
 
On 11/11/08, President Hasan Algholeh and AAAEA-Community liaison Bilal Almasri visited the new purchased offices of Arab American Family Services and met with Ms. Nariman Taha (co-founder).
The building located at 9044 S. Octavia in Bridgeview will be occupied by the 20 staff members starting mid November, and the cost of the building and the work is being done on it is about $400,000.After a tour of the building, discussion took place on finding opportunities to identify projects of mutual interest so AAAEA can assist the community.
AAAEA team expressed appreciation to the efforts of AAFS and the success of securing such place in a short time. In return AAFS noted the history and the support AAAEA provided to AAFS over the last 9 years including the first health fair, computer classes, financial support by members, provide computers, building inspection....

Education Committee

AAAEA will offer the following EIT/FE Classes. The classes will be held at the University of Illinois -Chicago (UIC) campus. The classes are designed to help you prepare for the April 25, 2009 Exam. Members are encouraged to register for the classes and the exams.

One day an employee sends a letter to his boss asking for an increase in his salary!!!

 The next day, the employee recieved this letter of reply:
 Dear NOrman,
 I kNOw you have been working very hard. NOwadays, NOthing much has changed. You must have NOticed that our company is NOt doing NO ticeably well as yet.  NOw the newspaper are saying the world`s leading economists are NOt sure if the United St ates may go into aNOther recession. After the NOvember presidential elections things may turn bad.  I have NOthing more to add NOw. You kNOw what I mean.
