Dear Fuad,

Salamat,

Congratulations and thank you all for making AAAEA Tri-state 1st election a success in all aspects.

Before we move to the election event, on behalf of the elected committee many thanks to Ayman Elzibak, Maher Abdelqader, and Mohammad Muhaysin for their time, efforts and participation in the steering committee during the last ten months.  Without their contribution we would not have reached this juncture today.

The event was well attended and the participation of the general members was very impressive. The questions and comments were critical yet very professional.  It makes us proud to be part of a well educated group with such a level of sophistication and high expectations.  This came across clearly to the nominees as they answered the questions of the audience.  Overall, the participative interaction was very informative and refreshing.

The second part of the event was managed successfully by Maher Abdelqader, Head of the Nomination Committee.  The nominees were asked to present themselves, talk about their vision for AAAEA and answer questions.  Subsequently, the qualified members were asked to cast their votes on the ballots which were collected and counted.  As a result, the members have selected Fuad Issa as President, Shukri Abuhuzeima as Vice President, and Mohammad H. Abdeljelil as Public Relations officer.  Yosrey Bekhiet and Naser Hamoudeh remained from the steering committee as Secretary and Treasurer respectively.  The voter turn out was 62%.

The event concluded with the elected officers pledging to uphold the bylaws, promote the organization and serve AAAEA members.  It was moving.

Looking forward to a prosperous year serving you.

Yours,

Fuad Issa, PE

Tri-State President

Joke of the Week

Half Full or Half Empty?

by Salah Issa

To the optimist, the glass is half full.

To the pessimist, the glass is half empty.
To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be
